While this hadith proves that jinn and demons really ride on human beings and harass them, on the other hand, this hadith also guides the people who are suffering from such problems as to what they should do. It is also for the scholars who do this to preach the Hereafter and Paradise instead of threatening and intimidating those who come to them and to encourage them to be patient and courageous.
Interpreter: This incident has been narrated in many ahaadeeth with various words and phrases, the summary of which is as follows: A woman had a child who used to have jinn seizures. This child is caught by someone at any time. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) approached him and placed his hand on his back. He said, ‘I am Muhammad ibn’ Abdullah. If the enemy of Allaah is disgraced, get out of here. ‘ So after that, this calamity and suffering from this child and his family ended completely.
Translation: ‘Uthman ibn Abi al-‘Aas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) appointed me as the agent of Taif, I began to think of something in prayer until I did not remember what I was reciting When I saw this situation, I traveled and came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: Is it Ibn Abi Al-Aas? I said: Yes, Messenger of Allah! You asked: “Why are you here?” I said: Messenger of Allah! I have all sorts of thoughts in prayer until I don’t even know what I’m reading. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: This is Shaytaan, come near me, I came near you, and He knelt on his toes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) patted my chest with his blessed hand and poured the saliva of his mouth into my mouth, and said (addressing Shaytaan): Enemy! Get out He did this three times, then he said to me: “Go to your work.” Uthman narrates: By oath! I do not know if the devil will ever come near me again. (Ibn Majah 2858)
